Five days in May when a London hospital garden becomes the most scrutinised twenty-five acres in horticulture
Chelsea Flower Show 2027: Which Day to Choose and How to Get In
About the Chelsea Flower Show
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is held each May in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea, beside the Thames. The 2027 show runs 18-22 May.
What Makes It Different
Chelsea is a competition dressed as an exhibition. The show gardens are built on site over three weeks, judged, awarded medals, and then dismantled within days — nothing that takes a year to design survives the following week.
That compresses everything into five days, and it is why which day you attend matters more here than at any comparable event: the first two days are restricted to RHS members and are noticeably calmer, the public days are busier, and the Friday evening is a different event altogether.

Where to Start
- Decide between a members’ day and a public day — Tuesday and Wednesday are quieter and give the gardens room, Thursday to Saturday are fuller and livelier
- Book before the autumn — tickets go on sale in October for a show the following May, and the days that matter go early
- Give it a whole day — the site is larger than it looks and the Great Pavilion alone absorbs hours
- Solve lunch in advance — Chelsea in show week absorbs every restaurant in SW3

Arrange It With Perfect.Live

The 2027 Show
The show runs Tuesday 18 to Saturday 22 May 2027. Tuesday and Wednesday are RHS members’ days; Thursday, Friday and Saturday are open to all. Gates open at eight in the morning, and the show closes at half past five on the Saturday.
Two fixtures worth knowing. Chelsea Late runs on the Friday evening — the gardens after hours, with a different atmosphere entirely. And the Great Plant Sell Off closes the show on Saturday afternoon, when exhibitors sell the plants rather than transport them home.
Tickets and Hospitality
Entry is by day, with members’ days restricted to RHS membership and public days open to all. Hospitality adds a table, a base to return to, and a considerably more civilised way to spend eight hours on your feet.
We do not resell tickets. We establish which day suits, arrange membership where that is the route, and build the day around it.
How We Help
- The right day identified rather than whichever is left
- Membership arranged when the quieter days are the point
- A table in Chelsea during the one week it is impossible
- A car rather than a walk from the Embankment
- The evening after handled
For that table, our guides to Michelin-star restaurants in London and private dining rooms in London are the place to start.
