About the Six Nations
The Six Nations is the annual rugby championship between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, played across five rounds each February and March. The 2027 edition runs from 5 February to 13 March.
What Makes the Six Nations Different
Nobody attends the Six Nations. People attend a match, in a city, on a weekend, and the championship is the excuse. Dublin in February is a different proposition from Rome in March, and the fixture you choose decides the trip far more than the rugby does.
The tournament is also unusually civilised about its timing — Saturday afternoons and the occasional Friday night, which leaves the evening intact. A weekend built well here is two nights in a European capital with a stadium in the middle of it.
Where to Start
- Choose the city first, the fixture second — every round offers three matches in three countries on the same weekend. The rugby is broadly equivalent, the weekends are not
- Book the restaurant before the ticket — on a match Saturday the good tables in Dublin, Edinburgh and Cardiff are gone weeks ahead, and the stadium is the easy part
- Know what hospitality actually buys — the difference between a seat and a package is mostly the four hours either side of the eighty minutes
- Treat Super Saturday separately — the final round plays all three matches on one day, and if the championship is still open it is the single best day in the sport

The 2027 Championship
The tournament opens on Friday 5 February 2027 with Ireland against England, and closes on Saturday 13 March with Ireland against France. The final round is Super Saturday: all three fixtures played on the same afternoon and evening, staggered so each can be watched in turn.
Five rounds are spread across six weeks, with a fallow weekend in the middle. Matches are played in London, Paris, Dublin, Rome, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
Tickets and Hospitality
Union allocations go largely to clubs and members, which is why general availability is thin and late. Hospitality is the reliable route and comes in tiers — from a seat with a lunch attached to a private box.
