LPM Restaurant Dubai: French Mediterranean Cuisine in DIFC

The Riviera, relocated — Niçoise cooking, dishes made for sharing, and a room that has been a DIFC fixture for years

About LPM Restaurant Dubai

The LPM restaurant Dubai diners know so well is the local outpost of La Petite Maison, the restaurant that began on a side street in Nice and became one of the best-known names in French Mediterranean cuisine. In DIFC, it has become something of an institution: the address where a business lunch runs into the afternoon, and where regulars order without looking at the menu. It is also one of the tables our Private Advisors are asked about most often in Dubai.

From Nice to DIFC

La Petite Maison was born in Nice, close to the old town and the flower market, as a restaurant for people who knew the Riviera well. The cooking was simple, generous, and built on the produce of the region: tomatoes, olive oil, lemons, herbs, and fish from the Mediterranean. That spirit travelled first to London and then to Dubai, where LPM Restaurant & Bar Dubai opened in Gate Village and has remained ever since.

The interior draws on the Riviera’s golden decades, with art and references to the personalities who put the coast on the map between the 1950s and the 1990s. It feels less like a themed restaurant than a well-kept dining room on the Côte d’Azur.

The LPM Dubai Menu

The menu is designed for sharing. Plates arrive in the middle of the table, and the meal builds gradually rather than in fixed courses. Dishes worth knowing include

  • Burrata et tomates, with basil and olive oil
  • Escargots, generously garlicked and made for bread
  • Salade Niçoise and ratatouille, both as they are cooked in Nice
  • Lamb chops with potato gratin, a long-standing favourite
  • Bouillabaisse, for a slower, more traditional meal
  • Tarte tropézienne to finish, the Saint-Tropez brioche with cream

The wine list leans towards France, with a strong selection of Provence rosé that suits the cooking perfectly. The bar serves cocktails that draw on the Riviera’s artists and writers for inspiration.

Lunch or Dinner

At lunch, LPM Dubai is one of DIFC’s most reliable rooms for business. Service is efficient without being rushed, and the sharing format makes it easy to host a table without the formality of individual courses.

Dinner is livelier. The room fills steadily through the evening, the lighting drops, and the atmosphere becomes closer to a busy Riviera restaurant in summer. For an occasion, dinner is the better choice; for a conversation, lunch.

Where to Start

For a first visit, book lunch on a weekday and order the classics: burrata with tomatoes, escargots, salade Niçoise, and the lamb chops with gratin to share. Leave space for the tarte tropézienne. For a longer afternoon in DIFC, Gaia is a few steps away in the same neighbourhood for a different Mediterranean evening.
