Qatar Grand Prix: Access, Hospitality, and the Week in Doha

A night race under floodlights, one week before the season ends — and a trip that is far easier to arrange than to improvise

About the Qatar Grand Prix

The Qatar Grand Prix is a Formula 1 night race held at the Lusail International Circuit, north of Doha. It was first run in November 2021, skipped in 2022 while the country hosted the FIFA World Cup, and has returned every year since 2023 under a ten-year agreement.

The 2026 race takes place on Sunday 29 November, the penultimate round of a season that ends in Abu Dhabi one week later.

What Makes the Qatar Grand Prix Different

The race is run entirely under lights. Lusail installed permanent floodlighting in 2007, so the circuit was designed around evening sessions rather than adapted to them. The schedule, the temperature, and the pace of the weekend all follow from that.

It is also a late-season race. Las Vegas falls on 21 November, Qatar on 29 November, and Abu Dhabi on 6 December, which turns the end of the calendar into a three-weekend run. For guests who follow the sport, Qatar is rarely a single destination. It is the middle of a journey.

Those choosing between the Gulf rounds will find the character of each laid out in our guide to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, and the wider picture in our overview of Formula 1 hospitality.

Qatar Grand Prix Dates and the 2026 Weekend

The 2026 race weekend runs from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November 2026, with the race on the Sunday evening at 7 pm local time.

Looking ahead, the 2027 calendar published by the FIA and Formula 1 places the Qatar Grand Prix on 5 December as a sprint weekend. The Gulf rounds carry a contingency note, so the date is best treated as provisional until the season approaches.

Whichever edition you plan around, the dates only fix the weekend. The arrangements that matter fall in the days on either side.

Qatar Grand Prix Tickets and Hospitality

Access at Lusail broadly divides into grandstand seating, general admission, and premium hospitality, released through the promoter and the official ticketing channels. Each carries a different view of the track, a different level of service, and a different release pattern.

We do not resell Qatar Grand Prix tickets. What we do is establish which tier suits the guest, secure it through the proper channel, and make sure the rest of the weekend is built around it. A premium seat is of little use if the transfer back to the city takes longer than the race.

Where to Start

  • Choose the tier before the dates. A grandstand view of the main straight and a hospitality suite are different evenings, and the choice drives everything that follows.
  • Decide how many weekends. Qatar, Las Vegas, and Abu Dhabi fall close together. Some guests take one, some two, and the second flight is the one that needs planning first.
  • Plan the transfer, not just the seat. The circuit sits outside Doha, and a night race ends late. A driver who knows the exit routes is worth more than an upgrade.
  • Keep the days around the race. Doha rewards a longer stay than the race alone. Dining, a private desert or sea day, and a quieter hotel are easier to hold early than late.

Doha Around the Race

The circuit sits north of Doha, so where you stay shapes the weekend. A hotel close to the circuit shortens every evening. A hotel in the city trades that for dining and a more varied week.

Restaurants in Doha fill around race weekend, as they do in any city hosting an international event. We hold tables through our fine dining and nightlife service, and for guests travelling for work as well as the race, our business concierge service handles meetings and logistics in the same trip.

How We Help

Access chosen by tier and sightline, a hotel placed for the circuit or for the city depending on the week you want, transfers timed to the end of a night race, tables held before the weekend fills, and a single point of contact if a session moves or a flight changes. For guests continuing to Abu Dhabi, the second leg is arranged at the same time.
