Twenty-one starred kitchens in a compact capital, and a cooking tradition that began in this city
Michelin Star Restaurants in Copenhagen: A Concierge Guide
About Michelin Star Restaurants in Copenhagen
Michelin star restaurants Copenhagen offers number twenty-one in the Michelin Guide Nordic Cities 2026, carrying thirty-one stars between them. Three hold the maximum of three stars, four hold two, and fourteen hold one.
That is a high concentration for a city of this size, and it explains why Copenhagen is a destination for dining in its own right and not only a stopover.
Michelin Star Restaurants Copenhagen: The Three-Star Tier
The three-star kitchens are Geranium, Kadeau, and Jordnær. Geranium is the best known: it occupies the eighth floor of the Parken stadium, is led by chef Rasmus Kofoed and has held three stars since 2016. Its cooking is rooted in New Nordic cuisine, the movement that began in Copenhagen in 2004 around the principles of purity, simplicity, and freshness, and which changed how restaurants in the region think about local, seasonal produce.
The New Nordic cuisine of that period is the reason many visitors come. A starred dinner here is also a reading of a landscape and a season, so timing matters more than it does in a city with a fixed repertoire.

The Second Tier and Beyond
Four restaurants hold two stars: Kong Hans Kælder, Alchemist, Koan, and AOC. Fourteen more hold one, among them Formel B, Udtryk, Marchal, Lille Mølle, akmē, Aure, Sushi Anaba, Alouette, Texture, JATAK, ESSE, Parsley Salon, The Samuel, and Søllerød Kro. Not all are in the centre: Parsley Salon and The Samuel are in Hellerup, and Søllerød Kro is in Holte, both north of the city.
A short trip need not cover the full list. For the Copenhagen Michelin guide, the useful distinction is between the evening that justifies the city and the supporting meals around it, and it makes choosing among Michelin restaurants Copenhagen offers much easier. One three-star dinner, one two-star kitchen, and a lunch at a one-star table is a week of serious eating.
Where to Start
- Choose the main evening. One three-star table is a trip’s anchor. Decide which, then plan the other days around it
- Check the location. Not every starred restaurant is in the centre, so some may need a car. The difference changes the plan
- Mix formats. A long tasting menu in the evening is best balanced by a lighter lunch and a free afternoon
- Check the guide close to the date. Stars are reviewed every year, and the list above reflects the 2026 edition. Confirm any restaurant’s current status before you travel
Booking in Copenhagen
Starred restaurants release reservations on their own schedules, and the most sought-after tables go early. Each restaurant sets its own terms, so it is worth confirming them as soon as your dates are fixed.
That is the point at which a concierge helps. We find what is available for your dates, hold what we can, and say plainly when a table cannot be had.

How We Help
We arrange the dinners and the days around them: reservations at the starred tables that suit your visit, a hotel positioned for the evenings, transfers to restaurants outside the centre, and a quieter plan for the hours between meals. For other cities, our guides to Michelin-star restaurants in Paris, Barcelona, and Rome follow the same approach. Our fine dining and nightlife service covers the rest of the table list, and our business concierge team arranges private dinners for groups.
